Umbertide - Valley of Niccone

Released from Umbertide, towards the Town of Castle along the Tiber 3Bis, there appeared in the top left corner, surrounded by greenery, the castle of Montalto, with its high tower, which once was a stronghold of great strategic importance for the defense of Fratta against the expansionist ambitions of Citta di Castello. The first historical notice of the castle dates back to 1385.
