Umbertide - Civitella Ranieri
A short walk from town, in a dominant position, is the Pinewood Ranieri, historical oasis of refreshment for umbertidesi that for some years, along with Macchione and Rainieri Park , has become a buffer of 23 hectares of green facilities and not available citizens and tourists. The pine forest, just above the E-45, can be admired in all its majestic castle of Civitella Ranieri, a splendid example of medieval fortress. Its construction dates back to 1000. Continuing a few kilometers you reach the castle Partucci Serra. The current structure was built on the ruins of the ancient castle, destroyed in 1420 by James Baglioni, lieutenant arm Fortinbras.
