Of the ancient castle and medieval village of Montemigiano it was mentioned in 1210, in the old maps this town is sometimes called "Montemixano" or "Monte Mezzano". Center of considerable importance, was under the dominion of Citta di Castello and Perugia. In the fifties the village, because of depopulation, was abandoned at that time and began a slow decline. Restored in recent times, it is now possible to see its castle, its old church and its medieval houses. Set in a high position on the left of the course of the river Niccone, along the sides of the hilly road that led to Civitella - S. Anna and Comunaglia, is easily reached from the village of Niccone.
