Serra Partucci Castle
The construction of the castle, in a dominant position among the streams and Assino Palace, seems to date from the XII Century. The current structure was built on the ruins of the ancient castle, destroyed in 1420 by James Baglioni, lieutenant arm Fortinbras. The name seems to derive from this Partuccio, who was the first Lord of Serra. Subjected for many years to the jurisdiction of Gubbio, the territory of Serra was joined, in 1827, the Civitella Ranieri, for joining in 1863 the City of Umberleigh. The castle, the subject of important work over the years of consolidation, is not allowed. Continuing upward, past the town of Campaola, you'll reach the old village of St. Faustino.
