The Rocca, Contemporary Art Center Exhibition
The Centre for Contemporary Art La Rocca is situated in the center of Umbertide in the Fortinbras square. The fortress was a mighty medieval fortress built in the late fourteenth century by the Angeluccio Ceccolo designed by Alberto Guidalotti.
The center is open only from April to November, is home to over municipal collections, interesting exhibitions of contemporary art. Went through the Rock many forms of art (such as ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, visual arts, crafts and so on) and many forms of expression of various cultures and peoples of the world (Europe, Asia, Africa, Americas , Australia and Oceania). The construction consists of a massive square tower over 30 meters high and three other battlement towers has been interested in the eighties by massive renovation restoration that has allowed the recovery of its historical identity and the full use of the premises now designed to host exhibitions of contemporary art. Periodically there is exposure to the civic collection Ciagnotti John, where, in addition to works by that artist, include works by Renato Birolli, Mino Maccari, Luciano Minguzzi, Toti Scialoja, Mirko Bassaldella, Corrado Cagli, Domenico Consagra.
